Malawi Folklore

Designed by Alt Group and developed by Cactuslab, this site serves as a living archive of the stories, songs, and cultural knowledge of the Malawi people, much of it previously undocumented outside of oral tradition. The project was created in close collaboration with the local community, capturing and preserving a rich cultural history for future generations.

While initially built as a standard website, connectivity challenges in Malawi required a more resilient approach. We engineered the platform to work fully offline, enabling installation across libraries throughout the country. Launched last year, the project represents a meaningful blend of technology and cultural preservation.
